When you become a volunteer, you join a team of volunteers who serve as the ambassadors of the THOCPA. Our
volunteers are often the first to greet and introduce visitors to the Cancer Center and are an essential part of our team,
helping us provide patients with the best experience possible.
Our volunteer team is made up of caring people, men and women from diverse backgrounds, high school and college students, retirees,
transitioning adults and working professionals.
Volunteers at our welcome desk play an important role greeting patients and visitors and assisting them with wayfinding for our adult and
pediatric clinics, infusion centers and radiation oncology services.
Volunteers provide assistance in a number of administrative activities. General office skills are welcome, including computer skills, phones
and database input. Volunteers may also assist with coordination of special events for the cancer center.
Volunteers work with THPCPA's family life specialists, assisting with play activities and supervising children. Other
duties may include maintaining the common areas, cleaning toys, performing administrative tasks and preparing for and staffing
"Volunteering at the THOCPA is an opportunity to meet and greet a diverse population of folks looking for strength, directions,
hope and a big smile! I look forward to giving it my best!"
