Insurance & Paying for Care Download pdf

We have contracts with most major insurance providers, however we would advise you to check with your insurance company regarding all specific coverage details as well as any pre-certification requirements that your specific provider may have, just so you are fully aware.

Our friendly staff is available to answer your billing, insurance, cancer insurance, and medical questions in a courteous, discreet and timely manner. We do not want you to be concerned with the payment for services where you should be focusing on your journey to cancer free. We hope that every visit a patient makes to our office is a pleasant one.

Our financial and insurance experts will work with you and your family through this challenging time.

  • All service payments are the full responsibility of the patient. We will bill your insurance company, however if you are a self-paying patient all services fees are due at time of services rendered.
  • The patient’s is responsible in obtaining a pre-authorization for any procedure.

Payment Options

We accept cash, check, or credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover). All payments will be applied to charges as indicated on your services statement. If you pay less than the full balance due, your payment will be applied to the oldest incurred charges.

Our financial counselors will verify your coverage prior to your appointment. If you do not see your health insurance plan listed, please call your cancer center for additional information. New cancer insurance plans are being added all the time.

Approximately 1.8 million new cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed in 2020, according to the Silver Book® Cancer Fact Sheet 1.  Americans age 55 and over will comprise 80% of that estimate. There have been many breakthroughs in medicine and cancer treatments.  The survival rate has gone up substantially, 40% over the last 40 years, but the cost of that treatment remains a financial burden for most individuals and families.

While fighting cancer, loss of income is a real possibility.  In addition, the two basic costs associated with fighting cancer are Medical Expenses and Non-Medical Expenses. Some of the expenses you may incur include:

Special Expenses:

  • Transportation
  • Hotels
  • Special Diets
  • Family Care

Living Expenses

  • House Payment/Rent
  • Car Payments
  • Utilities (gas/electric/water)
  • Groceries

Health Insurance Shortfalls (out of pocket expenses)
